First, the place is situated on a hill that you walk up, and the place itself is cute and cozy. The decorations are very nice, and seating is limited (only a few tables) but we were able to be seated immediately. They don’t have a “menu”, the owner/waiter will tell you what’s made for the day. It seems to be two options of food per day. They also have different appetizers. The service was good, and the staff was friendly, however they were a bit pushy on what we were ordering and tried to get us to order more food which we didn’t super love but it seemed more of the cultural experience than them being rude. The ordering was also rushed and the experience was very fast paced. However, the food itself is amazing. I mean, seriously, you can tell the dishes are made with love and seasonings not of this earth because they’re so damn good. It truly was the best Indian food I’ve ever eaten. The bread is also made by the owner which was SO yummy!! Definitely come here if you want a true experience and enjoy Indian food. The butter chicken and rice is super delicious, and we would’ve had dessert if we had more room to eat but the portion sizes are well. We will be back here!- Tipo de refeição

The service was really friendly and the small menu was amazing. Great starters (we ordered another it was so nice). And then superb curries, finished off with lovely home made deserts. The Lassis were delicious too. And very reasonably priced too.
It was a really great place to eat and we would strongly recommend it (and we have the best Indian in our own country near our house). We’ll be coming back each time we’re in Caldas.- Tipo de refeição

This little gem of Caldas Da Rainha is hidden away in a small street. If you want authentic, yet unique Indian food, with a smile, and amazing service go here. Tip: Ask for the spinach fritters as a starter. You'll be pleasently blown away.

Flavours Worth Finding
Tucked away on a quiet street in Caldas da Rainha, with barely a sign to announce it, Flavours of India is the kind of place you find only by chance—or sheer luck securing a table. But trust me, this is one discovery worth the hunt.
Run by the husband-and-wife duo, this intimate restaurant feels less like a business and more like being welcomed into someone’s home. The warmth begins at the door, where you’re greeted with genuine smiles, and carries through to the end of the meal. With only about five tables each night, it’s an experience best savored slowly, ideally with a reservation firmly in hand—because without one, you’re necessarily going to be fed.
The menu is a delightful surprise: small, focused, and rotating. Each evening brings both a meat and vegetarian option, prepared with a devotion to authenticity that’s rare outside the subcontinent. On the night we visited, they prepared a street food night—pani puri to start, dahl makhani for the vegetarian main, and a fragrant chicken plate for the non-vegetarian option. The pani puri starter stole the show: crisp, delicate shells filled with tangy-spiced water, yogurt, and chickpeas that burst with flavor in every bite. The freshly made poori breads were a close second—pillowy and golden, practically begging to be torn apart, dipped, and savored.
What we appreciated most was the time they devoted to every table—explaining each dish, how to eat it, its ingredients, and how it’s prepared. Trying a new cuisine can feel intimidating, but not here; in a place this small, the conversation is as much a part of the experience as the food itself.
Living in the UAE, traveling often to India, and splitting whatever time is left in Portugal, our family never expected to find Indian food here that truly rivaled the best we’ve had abroad. But Flavours of India has proven us wrong—in the most delicious way.
It’s the kind of place you’ll brag about finding. Make a reservation, and don’t be put off if you walk past it the first time—every bite is worth the hunt.- Tipo de refeição

It was amazing it was one of the best restaurants we went to my kids loved the food. The people who serve breakfast for super nice people around us we're really really really really really really really nice

We had a wonderful time at this charming family-run restaurant. From the moment we arrived, the hosts greeted us with genuine warmth, making us feel truly welcome. The dishes were absolutely exquisite and clearly prepared with care and love. Without a doubt, this is the best Indian restaurant we've visited in quite some time. A truly delightful experience.

I really enjoyed the food, especially the flavorful chickpeas. The chef not only prepares the dishes but also creates a welcoming atmosphere by sharing details about each dish, making the experience even more special. I can't wait to come back and try other things!

They have no standard menu, which at first frightened me a bit, but offer a few choices every time, whether you’re a meat-eater or vegetarian or vegan. And every single thing I’ve ever tried has been amazing, so now we pretty much order one of each.
While it can be difficult to find street parking nearby, it’s a quick walk from the La Vie mall parking garage. If you can find it (there seems to be no sign at all), you need to try it!
(Whenever anyone asks about local Indian food on Facebook, this is the place that everyone mentions. I only regret it took us so long to finally try it!)- Estacionamento

Extremely welcoming and excellent service. Upfront you will get asked about any allergies or vegetarian preferences. There is no menu, rather you get to chose from a limited amount of dishes available that day. The food tastes excellent and is highly recommended.

Wonderful Punjabi food restaurant! We had the palak chaat, butter chicken and channa masala served with bhature and rice. Authentic and traditional food. The owners are really friendly and this place would be our local Indian restaurant if we lived here.

We just came across this little gem of a family owned restaurant. Their food is incredibly flavourful especially the spinach starter and the butter chicken. Such a delight - our taste buds rejoiced! 4.95 euros for starters. 9.50 euros for mains.
